ORAL HEALTH AWARDS FINALISTS
September 2017

We are delighted to have been shortlisted for SIX categories in the Oral Health Awards 2017 including Best Prevention Team, Best Therapist -Linda Holmes and Best Leader of Prevention - John Lewis. The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony Royal Garden Hotel, Kensington, London on 17 November. 

These awards celebrate prevention and the importance of promoting good oral health.We are very proud of the prevention work we carry out at the practice and we have a whole team approach to educating our patients to avoid them having decay in the place. Fingers Crossed for the 17th!

A warm welcome to Leigh
September 2017

We are delighted to welcome Leigh Walker to Ghyllmount. Leigh will join the team from 1st December.

Leigh is looking forward to practising back in Penrith, he has a special interest in Endodontics(root fillings) and is studying to complete a Masters in Endodontology with the University of Chester.

He is also a  member of the British Endodontic Society and able to take referrals to complete more complex endodontic treatments with the help of a dental operating microscope.

Leigh aims to make the dental visit as comfortable an experience as possible.

Out of working hours, he is a keen cyclist with a bit of Scuba diving and mountain scrambling thrown in for good measure.

Celebrating 10 Years at the helm!

Congratualtions to John Lewis who celebrates 10 years as Practice Principal this week. He bought Brunswick Sq Dental Pracitce in september 2007, moving up to the new Ghyllmount Dental in 2009. Ghyllmount is now a multi national award winning practice and is unrecognisable to the place it was 10 years ago.

Many thanks to all our loyal patients, old and new for their continued support and congratulations to John for his hard work and many acheivements over the last 10 years.

The children at Safehands Nursery have enjoyed playing dentist's and learning about how to look after their teeth as part of National Smile month 2017. We look forward to them joining the team a few years from now!

ANY ONE FOR TENNIS?

Continuing with our Wimbledon theme we are excited to announce that we will be running our Wimbledon competition with signed tennis items from Ladies British No 1 Johanna Konta as prizes amongst others. Johanna has kindly agreed to support our fundraiser for Alzheimers Society and sign some tennis goodies. We will certainly be cheering her on during the Wimbledon tournament.

John Lewis and Karon Kirkland went to visit Eden FM today to help promote Dementia Awareness Week.
